... which no matter what grandma used to say, I'm sure raw dough is still better for you than smarties, nerds and those awful sweetheart candies. (Does anybody actually like those?)
Tired of constantly being the focus of all the pictures, Lauryn turned her "camera" on me during the process:
The family enjoyed a favorite meal, with a special shape for the day:
A favorite book was always on hand (as it always seems to be these days):
And we enjoyed a Valentine's present from grandma and grandpa that had no added sugar:
The spinning created its own sugar-like excitement... it was far from a quiet game... but truly a fun one.
And I'm still kicking myself about not taking pictures of the valentine making process. Lauryn so very carefully wrote her name on every heart that we cut out together. And Owen took a break from he usual valentine routine (of carefully making each one different, and specific for each friend... rainbow stickers for one friend... glitter for another... flames for another...) to design a Calvin and Hobbes themed card on the computer. But he turned his creative energy towards the box this time... with his very own "logo" for the guitar game he will someday create... on the side of the box.Now the bags of candy are tucked away in high corners of the kitchen shelves, in hopes they'll be forgotten about... at least until the Easter candy starts to show up.
