Cleaning up the "Oh Nooooo!"

Once it finally stopped raining, we could do this:
(By the way, it was preceded by this.)

Little hands helped... and bigger, but still small hands... learned about power tools.
I'm afraid our one and only tree may have to go bye-bye. The next time we lose a large branch, it may be on our house, our car (or our neighbor's car), or our children (heaven forbid).
Somebody talk me out of it -- and give me another option -- please!

The other option is that you plant two trees in its place.

That way twenty years from now, your kids can always come back and remember when they helped plant those trees.

It will not only give them perspective on time because of how big the trees have grown, but remind them of the big storm that brought down the original tree.

Relish in the joy this tree gave you and be gracious in the opportunity to plant YOUR OWN tree. Its so rewarding to watch YOUR EFFORTS fruit into something so gorgeous.
You choose what you want. (or your kids)
Its so rewarding to landscape!

I agree with strangeite. Make this an OPPORTUNITY to make memories.
